Anyone who has been following the media coverage would think Andrew Padilla, one of our union leaders, is totally opposed to doing anything to solve the city’s budget crises. After weeks of one-sided coverage from the Albuquerque Urinal, Andrew finally got his day in front of the City Council. He and our other union brothers and sisters did us proud.
There argument, which the Urinal refuses to print, is basically, how can R.J. Berry claim the City is broke while paying his top staff MORE money, hiring MORE staff (especially for Darren White) and issuing no-bid contracts like the one for $50,000 for a union negotiater? Meanwhile, Mayor McClueless wants to cut the pay of people struggling to get by on $35,000. Political blogger Joe Monahan is one of the few who has mentioned the subject while the Urinal continued to parrot the spin of the Berry administration.

Watching him last Thursday we could tell Andrew had been put through the ringer. We want him to know A LOT of us appreciate his efforts. Berry and the Journal will fight for the fat cats until the city is bled dry. We’re glad we have Andrew and his team doing everything they can to stop it.
Why isn't the media covering the TRUTH about all of Berry's sleazy deals??!! And it's not just a 3% pay cut - it's a 10% pay cut! Berry and his crew of $100,000 a year men are going after our benefits too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur pay is getting cut and now we have to take all the calls 311 used to. I thought things would get better with Berry but they were better with Chavez.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrew and AFSCME!!!!
ReplyDeleteKOB did a story on some managers at Parks getting $5,000 raises recently. Berry only looks out for the people at the top. He needs to go.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he did to good either. Steve is the last person who should be talking about the dollar menu and McDonald's.
ReplyDeleteYou jokers ever consider implementing a "recall" election instead of sitting here around pissing and moaning?
ReplyDeleteMost of clerical and blue collar do work hard. Spend a day watching upper managers like Danny Gonzales. Wander in at 6 am. Go to breakfast at 7 am. Get Annette's kid at 8 am. Go for coffee at 9 am. Bullshit with Annette in her office until 11:30 then go to lunch with Annette. After lunch? Go home. NONE of us have that schedule!!
ReplyDeleteAt first the annette, and Danny thing was FUNNY but you have milked that cow dry. I think its time you build a bridge and get over it. Lets pick on someone else.
ReplyDeleteAs long as Driving Miss Daisy keeps driving Miss Daisy, we'll keep calling the two of them on their bullshit! Breakfast? 7 am. Second breakfast? 9 am... LOL!!!!

Maybe if you applied as much effort doing your job as you do worrying about others and shooting your mouth off, things might not be so negative.
TIME FOR A DIFFERENT POST.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone sat down and done the math on a 3% pay cut? Oh man! I'm sorry, I forgot where I was!
ReplyDeleteIt's not just the 3% pay cut. Berry's cutting benefits, too. It's more like 10%. But when you're making $90,000 a year - upper management - what do you care?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget kiddies, that Darren White is no friend of the unions. Also, don't forget that this fraud, this "Golden boy" of the Republican party endorsed the other fraud 'Prayer mayor'(at the last minute), leading the way for Ray boy to keep his job and then let the door open just enough for the other slithering snake David Campbell to find his way in to the dinner table at YOUR expense.
ReplyDeleteBig man on campus( Darren) is also running around claiming responsibility for the Martinez victory, and bending Allen Weh over in the process. In the end, with a Martinez win in November, only furthers and guarantees two more political payback appointments of Darren to Martinez' Chief of Staff and Ray, Ray to DPS Director. (Which will mean 'Red Light' Cameras for the whole state). Would you all like a piece of that RedFlex kickback action?
So, whether your a DEM or a Rep remember one thing; a vote for Martinez is a vote to further promote Ray & Darren into Nirvana, hence leaving the cesspool and Fairy Berry in the dust.
