Last Friday's Albuquerque Journal featured a big front page of Metro photo of Mayor Berry that was just weird, scary, spooky and disturbing. He's standing in the middle of prayer circle (at least we assume that's what it is) in the middle of Civic Plaza. People are around him laying hands on him, reaching their hands out to him. They may even be speaking in tongues. Who knows. What we do know is that Berry made sure the Journal was there to take his picture while his prayer groupies prayed for him. Classic.
The picture raises all sorts of questions about this guy. First and foremost, yes we wanted to get rid of Marty but WTF did we replace him with??!!

The answer is, a guy - the Prayer Mayor - who gets the following answers to his prayers:
* God wants The Prayer Mayor to balance the City budget by cutting our salaries.
* God wants The Prayer Mayor to go after our health and retirement benefits, too.
* God doesn't want The Prayer Mayor to work with our unions.
* God wants The Prayer Mayor to take it easy on the privatized 311 Call Center and dump all their calls on our understaffed, underpaid Customer Service Representatives.
While putting this together we had an e-mail forwarded to us that's making the rounds at City Hall on this very subject. It's from none other than our illustrious former Director Greg Payne who very humorously rips Berry a new one for his fondnes for "photographed prayer".
We didn't know it but Payne points out this isn't the first time Berry had himself photgraphed while praying. A few months ago the Journal photographed The Prayer Mayor at his own home with his wife and kid at the dinner table (PHONY!!!!). Folks, it doesn't get any more staged than that.
Payne referenced a Bible scripture, Matthew 6:5 that we had to look up. After we did, we thought it would be a good way to end this post. It tells you everything you need to know about RJ Berry - THE PRAYER MAYOR.
Matthew 6:5 (New International Version)
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."
LMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteDisgusting that a man like Payne actually quotes the Bible. The self-proclaimed "Satan" criticizes a man that isn't afraid to show his faith. Classic Payne.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Payne a Republican? I guess he's so dirty by now that no party wants to be associated with him.
I use Sun Van and it has gone to HELL since Payne left. Ask anyone who uses it. The schedulers are rude and you can never get a ride when you need it. Rizzeri doesn't care and lies to us. Pray about that Berry!!
ReplyDeleteYou should have called him Mayor McPrayer. Has a better ring to it.
ReplyDeleteActually the schedulers are not rude! They feed off the neagativity that they get from people who throw a fit when they cant get a time to go to wal-mart for 10th time that week! Payne didnt care about you all then!! He called you the retards!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so after reading this and viewing the pictures I can only say a few things... If you saw the picture with R. Berry and the guy standing behind "him", ITS A FAKE. Plus, If Greg Payne sent you that picture it sure just shows how much of a FAKE greg payne is himself. For the most part, greg payne cant take when people talk all the shit about him, so why do you think he likes to talk the shit about other people that have a position that he would only dream of having? Yes it does seem like every thing is going down hill once again, but it is only going to get worse. When we let POLITICIAN(s) take over our "FREE LIVES" this is what we end up with. For the average person, who only wants to have money and live life happy with no more struggles, we have messed up completely when we vote for people who cant and dont know how to run our government offices. So it was a train reaction when we voted Chavez in as mayor, who put Payne in as transit director and then we vote for someone else who says one thing and drags on another. Thats how they work, they are all liars and want fame and fortune.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY JUST WISH WE COULD HAVE PICKED WISER. Lets just face it, Gabriel Iglesias was right when he said "Lets face it,we Americans, dont know how to vote for 'presidents', we only know how to vote for American Idols"
